Privacy

No accounts, no profiles. The site has no accounts or personal profiles and sets no tracking or advertising cookies.

Server logs. Like any web service, the hosting infrastructure keeps standard technical logs (IP address, requested URL, timestamp) for security and debugging. They are not used to build profiles and are not shared.

Your searches. Search text is sent to the data service to answer the request and, like any web request, may appear temporarily in technical access logs together with an IP address. It is sent to neither usage analytics (Umami) nor error monitoring (Sentry) and is not used to build profiles.

The contact form. If you send a message through the contact page, we process your email address and message solely to answer it. The message is forwarded as email to the operator's mailbox and is neither stored in the site's database nor used for any other purpose; messages are retained like ordinary email correspondence, for as long as needed to handle them. Your IP address is used briefly for spam protection (request throttling) but is not stored with the message. The processing is based on answering your request.

Property data is public data. Sale prices, dates and official assessments shown here come from Iceland's public property register (HMS Kaupskrá) and other official sources — the same records anyone can obtain from the source. We display them as published and correct errors on request; see contact.

Third parties. Listing photos load directly from Vísir's image servers; opening a listing on Vísir is subject to their terms. The site is hosted on Vercel (frontend) and Fly.io (data service), whose infrastructure logging applies; some processing may take place in the United States under recognized transfer mechanisms, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Usage analytics. This site uses Umami — privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics — to count visits and a few interactions (valuations, filters, postcode views and language switches) in aggregate. It sets no cookies, and we deliberately do not send street addresses, property identifiers or your search text; coarse postcode areas may be recorded. See Umami's privacy policy.

Browser security reports. Your browser may automatically notify the site when content on a page conflicts with the site's security rules (CSP). The report goes only to the site's own data service and records which security rule was involved, the origin of the resource in question and the page path — query text and individual property identifiers are removed before anything is stored. Your IP address is used briefly for rate limiting but is not stored with the report. Aggregates are kept for at most 30 days and are used solely to tighten the site's security configuration.

Error monitoring. When a technical error occurs, an error report is sent to Sentry so it can be fixed. The report describes the error and the browser environment, and the personal data in it is deliberately minimized: no cookies are set, no IP address or user identifier is included in the error report, and URLs are stripped of search text and property identifiers before sending. Data controller and your rights. The data controller for this site is the operator of Húsgreind. Privacy questions — including access, correction or deletion requests — can be sent through the contact page. Since the site keeps no accounts or personal profiles, there is normally no personal data to hand over or delete. You may also lodge a complaint with Persónuvernd, the Icelandic Data Protection Authority.
